The Coles County Jail is located at 701 7th St in Charleston, Illinois.

To get to the Coles County Jail from Route 16, turn north on 7th street (a one-way street) at the Eastern Illinois University Old Main building and drive until you pass Harrison Ave. The jail will be just past the bottom of the hill on your right.

Administration

Jail Administrator - Lt. Kari Beadles

Kari Beadles has been employed at the Coles County jail since 2000. She started as a telecommunicator before transferring to Corrections Officer. She was promoted to SGT in 2009. In 2024 Kari was promoted to Lt. and became the Jail Administrator.
