Requirements
- The age of 18 and over
- A high school graduate or equivalent
- Able to pass a written examination, medical examination, and/or other tests as required
- Submit to fingerprinting and background check by the Coles County Sheriff's Office
- Must be able to complete a probationary period of one year plus training
Must be able to provide:
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Copy of diploma or GED
- Copy of proof of further education
Preference points to Veterans
Veterans will be awarded 5 points for honorable discharge from the United States military.
Must provide a copy of DD214.
Application must be turned into the Coles County Sheriff's Office
Application must have signed request and release form
